Cricket:

The Cricket Club is a village institution and synonymous with the name and image of Wrea Green. Founded in 1905, the club plays home matches on the village green. New members are welcome.

Football

Wrea Green Football Club run two sides in the Preston and Blackpool Sunday Leagues respectively. Home matches are played on the village green.

Tennis

Wrea Green Tennis Club is a private club founded in 1956, situated in Mill Lane and is open to tennis players from both the village and beyond; it currently has approximately 150 members. The club has three all-weather tennis courts and a pavilion, opened in 1999, which was built with the help of money from the National Lottery.

Bowls

Wrea Green not only has its famous Green but also has an excellent crown bowling green at Ribby Hall. The Ribby Hall Bowling Club was founded in 2000 and currently runs four teams, playing on Monday and Thursday afternoons and Tuesday and Wednesday evenings in local leagues.

Other Sports

Fishing is allowed in the duck pond (“The Dub”) once a licence has been obtained from the Clerk to the Parish Council.

Netball,Pool and Golf are other sports well represented by locals.

Spectator Sports

The Village is well situated for people to enjoy watching sports. Blackpool and Preston North End are both within easy reach for football supporters, as are the rugby union sides of Fylde and Preston Grasshoppers.
Lancashire play occasional county cricket matches at Lytham and Blackpool.
Golf fans are spoiled by being in close proximity to Royal Lytham and various other top class links courses in the area.
