Beating Bowl Cancer
Jez Welch from Kirkham and Alison Cooper from Newton, are running the Great North Run this year which is on September 30th. They have had a rigours training schedule since the New Year with them running at least two times a week. They can be seen on a regular basis running around the Fylde and exercising at their local sports centre Ribby Hall, in preparation of being mentally and physically fit for the big day ahead
They are both running in aid of "Beating Bowl Cancer" Which is a Registered Charity. So far they have raised £400 by holding a charity night which was held at Newton-with-Clifton Village Hall. Guests enjoyed in a variety of fund raising events, one being a raffle.
Prizes were donated from Preston FC, Ribby Hall Holiday Village, Sweat Shop, Kirkham Sports, Dobbies, Bargain Booze, Morrison's, Tesco's, Lund Pre-School & Newton Holiday Club.
