Compost Give-away

The next Compost giveaway is at 9am on Thursday 29 July at Morrison’s car park, Kirkham.

It will be given away on a first come, first served basis and people will be restricted to two bags per person. People will have to bring their own bags.

The compost starts life as garden waste, such as twigs and cuttings, before being collected in household green wheeled bins before it is taken away and…made into compost for Fylde gardens.

Composting is good for the environment, good for Fylde gardens and, because it saves the council paying £50 per tonne in Landfill Tax, good for Council Tax-payers.

Anyone turning up on Thursday can also ask about home-composting bins that are available at a small cost to householders.
