30th Jun Wrea Green Field Day 2012
This year’s field day will take place on Saturday 30th June 2012.
We are looking for girls who would wish to be entered into a draw to be Wrea Green Rose Queen.
To be eligible girls need to be between age 10 (year 5) and 15 years old on 30th June 2012 and either be attending Ribby with Wrea School or live within Wrea Green, Moss Side, Westby, Plumpton or Peel. They would also need to be available on the weekend of Wrea Green Field Day and the following weekend in order to participate in Weeton Field Day.
Please be aware that any girl wishing to become Rose Queen would require the full support of her family. The Rose Queen will need to select four girls for her retinue. Her family would then need to coordinate with families of the retinue and choose and arrange dresses and accessories including flowers. The Rose Queen and retinue would need to be able to attend a rehearsal in the week before Field Day. A financial contribution is made towards the cost of the dresses of the Rose Queen and her retinue
If your daughter would wish to be in the draw please contact Julia Denham on 01772 672754 or by email Dan.Thorley1@googlemail.com by 31st January 2012. Julia is also happy to provide further information.
We are always looking for volunteers to help with Field Day. If you feel that you can help in any way then please contact Jack Dobson, Chairman 01772 685910 or Julia Denham, Secretary on 01772 672754 or by email Dan.Thorley1@googlemail.com
Field Day now has its own Facebook page – why not visit it and show your support for this lovely village tradition on http://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=1816658690897&id=1072997763#!/pages/Wrea-Green-Field-Day/201830029836490
Pilates at the Church Centre
I’m a former resident of Wrea Green and am delighted to return to work here as a Freelance Fitness Instructor: ‘Simply Fitness’ with Sue.
I enjoy teaching Fitness Pilates at St. Nicholas’ Church (where I got married!) and hold mixed ability classes for the community on Tuesdays and Thursdays (at 5.45pm and at 7pm) in the lovely room at the church Centre. The classes cater for all levels, each exercise has options.
Pilates is a matwork-based series of exercises originally designed by Joseph Pilates, to improve posture, strength, balance and flexibility. It has been popular with celebrities, sports people and the general public for its many benefits, e.g. from back care to toning the abdominals etc.
I also hold Pilates/yoga fusion classes to stretch the body and and relax the mind. These are ‘stress-busting’ Candlelit sessions and include a longer relaxation.
The next dates are:
Weds. Nov. 23rd (6.30pm for 2 hours)
Tues. Dec. 13th (6.30pm for 2 hours)
Thurs. Dec 15th (6.30pm for 2 hours)
My contact details are: simplyfitness4u@yahoo.co.uk
tel: 07757 952 720 to book a class (essential please)
Thank you.
